Emir Kulov, PhD is a Kyrgyzstani political scientist whose work focuses on political parties, elections, and regime dynamics in post-Soviet Central Asia. He earned his PhD in Politics and Government from the University of Kent (United Kingdom), where his dissertation examined party institutionalization in post-Soviet Kyrgyzstan, with particular attention to electoral mobilization and political uncertainty. Dr. Kulov served as Chair of the Department of International and Comparative Politics at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) until 2022, where he also taught courses on comparative politics, democratization, and political institutions. Before joining AUCA, he taught at the University of Kent.
